Videos For Academy Awards Oscars Best Song 2001-2009
62My absolute favorite part of the the Academy Awards/Oscars is the Best Original Song Category. In my opinion, music makes a movie. The songs let us relive our rollar coaster of feelings we experienced as we escaped into a movie for a few hours. Some become blockbuster hits and some stay "hidden secrets" to the mainstream. Below are a list and videos of the Oscar Winners for Best Original Song 2001-2009.
2009: "The Weary Kind" From Crazy Heart, Music and Lyrics by Ryan Bingham and T-Bone Burnett.
I adored this movie and the music. Ryan's voice is smoking hot (I know that is not professional writing, but there are no other words!) and he is amazing to watch.
2008: "Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire, Music by A.R. Rahman Lyrics by Gulzar
Very catch dance tune that you have heard. I have been to two weddings recently and everyone danced to this tune!
2007: "Falling Slowly" from Once, Music and Lyrics by: Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
Once is a very sweet love story of a movie and the song is great for easy listening.
2006: "I Need to Wake Up" from An Inconvenient Truth, Music and Lyrics by Melissa Etheridge
Melissa Etheridge led the way for the first time a documentary won for best original song.
2005: "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from Hustle & Flow, Music and Lyrics by Jordan Houston, Cedric Coleman, and Paul Beauregard
2004: "Al Otro Lado Del Rio" from The Motorcycle Diaries, Music and Lyrics by Jorge Drexler
2003: "Into the West" from Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Music and Lyrics by Fran Walsh, Howard Shore, and Annie Lennox
Hauntingly beautiful. I could listen to this song over and over again.
2002: "Lose Yourself" from 8 Mile, Music by Eminem, Jeff Bass, and Luis Resto, Lyrics by: Eminem
2001: "If I Didn't Have You" from Monster's Inc, Music and Lyrics by Randy Newman
Catchy tune and if you like to sing it, you can do so with the Disney Sing it Family Hits Game.
